    142 Massachusetts Ave Boston, MA 02115, USA - Fenway-Kenmore
Bike lane completely blocked by constant stream of cars, Boston Police drive by without doing anything. Please fix this before someone is killed.
  • 500 Commonwealth Avenue Boston, MA 02215, USA - Fenway-Kenmore
Hotel at Kenmore does valet parking and always blocks the bike lane. And, always at least 2 cars stopped in the bike lane at Kenmore block, usually 4-7 cars stopped or parked in the bike lane.

Comm Ave at University Road and then onto the BU Bridge is a tragedy waiting to happen. There's a right turn only lane to go onto University road that people ignore. After that is an unprotected bike lane that cars go into to turn onto the BU bridge. 3 lands attempt to turn into 2 but it is quite a mess. It's only a matter of time that a major crash occurs. At the very least the bike lane should be curb protected the full length between University Road and the BU Bridge. There should be other considerations as well. The bike lane coming from Carlton goes into this. Cars and bikes coming from Carlton are also at risk of collision.

The bike lanes along Mass Ave near Boylston are constantly blocked. Calling Boston Police (or traffic enforcement) is clearly not a long-term solution, as these lanes are constantly used as two-minute parking for pickup and drop off all day. We need year round protection of these lanes, seasonal flexposts are clearly not enough.
  • 639 Huntington Ave Boston, MA, 02115, USA - Fenway-Kenmore

When I'm riding a bike to and from work and appointments, I feel unsafe on Huntington Ave on the stretch between Mass Ave and S Huntington.

This area has sharrows and is often a recommended bike route on Google Maps. However, there is no bike lane (but there are two lanes for cars and even parking along some portions), and I find that both "taking the lane" in the right hand lane and biking further to the side feel unsafe. If I bike to the side of the road, vehicles in the right hand lane will often pass me by at high speeds, very close to me, and I'm concerned about either not being seen, or a driver making a poor judgement that could result in me being hit. In the portion of the road with parking, I also worry about being doored. If I take the lane, I'm subject to harassment by drivers. (For example, the last time I took the lane, which was during the current lower-traffic conditions due to COVID19, a driver in a black vehicle wearing a US flag mask honked loudly, zoomed up close to me, rolled down the window, and yelled "Get the F*** off the street!")

If this road is really intended to be used (safely!) by people on bicycles, as the sharrows seem to suggest, something needs to be done to make it safer, ideally by adding a bike lane, at least for the portion of the road where the T has its own tracks separate from other traffic. I've had fewer problems in the area of the road where the green line shares the road, possibly because motorists are already required to be more aware and accommodating in that area and don't attempt to traverse it at such high velocities.

This is a City of Boston truck illegally parked in the bike lane on Comm Ave this morning at 8:18a. Plate MB2530. This is unacceptable.
  • 300 Longwood Ave Boston, MA 02115, USA - Fenway-Kenmore
The manhole In the Longwood Ave and Blackfan circle intersection is sinking/ loose again. It has been repaired at least two times in the last two years. Currently, when trucks go over it the entire frame in which the cover sits is moving (horizontally). At the same time the frame has been sinking into the ground (vertically). Thanks. Note, 300 Longwood is the closest address on the correct side of the street. The problem area is where Longwood meets Blackfan.

  • Boston University Bridge At Commonwealth Avenue Boston, Massachusetts - Fenway-Kenmore
Prior to the Comm ave bridge reconstruction project this summer, southbound traffic coming off of Boston University bridge had multiple "no left turn" signs when approaching Comm Ave. I notice now frequent cars stopping in the left lane coming off the bridge to turn left directly onto Commonwealth Ave. Is left turn now allowed at Comm Ave or is the absence of signs an oversight? See attached image from 2014 where there were 3 "no left turn" signs, none there anymore.

Can BIDMC and, or Boston do a better job policing their no smoking/ no vaping rule please? There are nicotine addicts sitting on the sidewalk benches in the outdoor seating area with no compunctions whatsoever.
