Traffic Signal / Pedestrian Signal Archived157-167 Vista Terrace New Haven, CT 06515, USA - WestvilleThere is a problem with the entire traffic signal system in the a.m. -- not sure if timing stays the same all day, but this is my morning experience: Travel on Vista Terrace to Fountain. Hit red light. Light turns green, make a right on Fountain and go a few feet to Forest and light turns red. Wait forever. Light turns green. Travel down Fountain to intersection/merge at Whalley, light turns red. Two or three cars get through green light which turns red in a blink. Drive a few feet on Whalley, and light at West Rock turns red. Wait forever. Light turns green, everyone speeds down Whalley at this point out of pure frustration. If one drives at speed limit down Whalley, practically every light turns red. A 3.5 mile commute turns into a half hour odyssey. Is there a master traffic signal plan/ system in New Haven? This is just one example of poor timing in a one mile stretch. There are others regularly on other cross town routes driven daily by a large number of individuals commuting to and from New Haven, and residents just trying to run errands. Anything @TTP can do to remedy the situation?

Thank you to @LCI Westville and @TTP ArchivedFountain Street - AmityThank you to @lci Westville and @ttp for looking into my concerns regarding parking and visibility issues on Fountain Street for single family homeowners trying to get out of driveway on busy road, and associated speeding issues on Fountain St.

Municipal Trash Bins Needed ArchivedAnthony Street And Fountain New Haven, CT - AmityIn addition to road traffic, there is extensive foot traffic on Fountain Street and a significant trash problem from cars and pedestrians. Would be great to have some municipal trash bins along city bus route to deter littering.

Television dumped on sidewalk ArchivedFountain Near W Prospect New Haven, CT - WestvilleThe area of Fountain Street with houses up on the hill seems to be a magnet for dumping garbage. Today there is a large television there broken into pieces. Can someone please come and do a cleaning of this item and the streets in the area in general?

Sidewalks and Curb damage ArchivedFountain Street New Haven, Connecticut - WestvilleSidewalks between Benton Street and Anthony Street are cracking and rising up from roots, causing a dangerous walking surface for this heavily walked sidewalk. Will these sidewalks be replaced?

Sidewalks and Curb damage Archived497 Fountain Street New Haven, Connecticut - AmityFountain street was re-paved and curbs installed a few weeks ago. Then the curbs were taken away. Any clue about ETA for curbs coming back and the job being completed?

Potholes ArchivedFairfield Street New Haven, Connecticut - AmityI reported this section this winter when it was treacherous. Some of the holes have been filled, but it is still an area I pass doing 5 mph due to holes, divits, uneven surface. I thought this street was due for repaving this summer. It is now August 23rd.

Traffic Signal / Pedestrian Signal Archived310 Prospect Street New Haven, Connecticut - Prospect Hill
It took me approx 25 minutes yesterday to travel from Prospect and Sachem to the corner of Goffe and Sherman, a distance of 1.2 miles. Traffic was backed up halfway down the block between Edwards and Sachem, and the light at Edwards and Prospect was timed to let 3-4 cars pass. I waited for approx. 4 light changes to get through that one. Then I waited at the light a short block away on Hillside and Prospect through 2 lights before making a left, as oncoming traffic always seems to block the intersection and the green turning arrow comes at the beginning of the light change rather than at the end.
Then, despite going the posted speed limit, I sat at red lights on Winchester Avenue (a long light plus a pedestrian walk light despite no pedestrians), Dixwell Avenue, Orchard Street, Sherman Parkway, and after making a left there, hit the red light on Sherman and Goffe.
This is a heavily trafficked commuter route with very poor timing of traffic lights. There must be a way to properly time these lights for better ease of traffic flow.

Potholes Archived345-361 Goffe Street New Haven, Connecticut - DixwellSeveral blocks on Goffe Street have scarified surface and potholes along this busy morning commute route that includes students, parents and staff at Hillhouse and commuters crossing town. Very dangerous and hard on tires. There are so many potholes in New Haven right now it's hard to keep track but I notice I am driving new, swerving routes all around town.

Traffic Signal / Pedestrian Signal Archived747-759 Orchard Street New Haven, Connecticut - DixwellThe light at this intersection traveling on Henry Street is timed for about 8 seconds--one or two cars get through before it turns red. Some days it is timed longer, but then the one at the west end of Henry on Sherman gets timed for 8 seconds. Is there some reason why these lights can't be timed for optimal traffic flow?
