As long as leaves are in brown leaf bags and branches are 4 feet in length and tied in bundles not exceeding 1 foot in diameter, we'll try to pick them up same day as your refuse/recycling day if left curbside. Thanks
Sorry hit that response too quickly. We will pick up branches as long as they follow the measurements quoted above. Parks Department has been picking up storm related damage done to trees on tree belt.
Thanks. I know after tropical storms and hurricanes there has been a special pick up of anything put out on the curb.
Like many taxpaying residents of New Haven, I have some large, long branches in my backyard after the heavy snow and no way to deal with them other than to pay someone to come and cut them and haul them away.
Just called Parks Department twice and phone hung up after putting me on hold. Will try again.
Unfortunately the storms that you reference were declared emergencies with FEMA reimbursements for outside contractors to assist. Our two tree crews are doing the best they can to clean up the debris from the storms but that takes us away from needs safety work. We will continue to remove debris from the storm but can not encourage residential disposal.
Leaf bags and trash picked up. Issue closed. If you need to report another issue please submit to See Click Fix or call Department of Public Works at (203) 946 - 7700. Thanks.
