Shopping bag of trash dumped on roadway on Fountain Street near corner of Anthony.

House on corner for sale has been empty for months — absentee landlord. Nobody tends property. City does not tend street/corner/sidewalk trash/broken glass.

Bag of garbage Has been there 3 days on heavily trafficked commuter and pedestrian route, used by:

    school children,
    the elderly,
    residents of all ages and
large population walking to religious services.

    It’s disgraceful.

Would really like to see some attention paid to the sidewalks and streets in this neighborhood by the city sanitation units. don’t know/don’t care which ones.

    Tree belts
    Sidewalks
    Streets

    ALL NEED REGULAR CLEAN UP

Does anybody read reports on this tool? My last one was not acknowledged.

Tree belt on corner of Anthony and Fountain Street littered with broken glass, plastic, nips, fast food containers, leaves, soda cans, bottles, broken auto parts from accidents on this corner and more. Has been like this for months. House on corner for sale and unoccupied. Not sure who is responsible for keeping Street , sidewalk and treebelt clean and free from harmful trash items, but nobody is tending to this.

Have put in numerous requests regarding this corner over the past five years, including street sweeping, city oversight, installing municipal trash receptacles that get emptied.

Nothing gets done. I have to carry my dog over this debris in order to take a walk in my neighborhood. It’s disheartening as a taxpayer living on a heavily trafficked commuter route that is left with daily garbage strewn up and down and on side streets with no city maintenance.

There’s a larg-ish branch on tree belt I can’t break up. As pictured, I have raked and cleaned debris on road and pulled branch off road. Would be great if @nhparks or @dpw could pick if up. There is a small pile next door, too, and generally around tree belt in area there are some medium large branches from recent storms.

    Thank you.

Fairfield Street from Ramsdell to Fowler needs repaving. Full of hazardous potholes. @dpw The other stretch from Ramsdell to West Prospect was done 2 years ago, which is great, thanks. The rest of this busy road needs attention for safety reasons.

Storm tree limb debris. There is a significant pile of small to medium branches from the oak trees around this address. I know all departments are busy, but when possible it would be great to have the pile removed. Thank you.

There are car wiper blades, a dirty diaper, dog fences, the usual fast food containers, nips and other assorted items on the treebelt and road at corner of Anthony and Fountain.

I am tired of cleaning it up. Can someone on the city do so -/ I don’t care who— and put up no littering signs and a municipal trash container? The diaper and feces are a health hazard.

    Dangerous storm surge area.

There were two ‘geysers’ coming out of street during Tuesday’s storm. I have never seen anything like it in 26 years in New Haven.

Wonder if adding bioswales on flat section of Fountain Street would help alleviate run off from the two hills on 243. Or some other infrastructure upgrades.

This intersection was severely flooded with plumes of water rising out of manholes.

I tried to avoid it by taking west rock street, and barely made it through the first dip in the road.

    Reported to @dpw via email:

clogged drain on Fountain Street near Anthony Street. There is a car mat covering it along with trash and debris.

The whole intersection of Anthony and Fountain is constantly littered with drug and alcohol detritus, food wrappers, rubber gloves, and other random garbage.

Corner needs a city trash receptacle, maintained by city.

Sandwich bag filled with white powder found on corner of Anthony and Fountain, along with Fireball and othe nips and assorted trash from cars parking there at night.

Called in non-emergency notice re: bag.

Would be great to have night time surveillance of that corner as it is obviously a popular party spot.

I regularly clean up the garbage even though I don’t live there, so I can walk dog and grandchildren without drug paraphernalia and trash to step over.

Recent work done on tree belt on Anthony Street is caving in. Pedestrian hazard. @dpw. Called RWA and they say it wasn’t them tearing up sidewalk a few weeks ago.

    Zoning Question:

501 Fountain is in an RS 2 Zone. How is it that this single family residence can be rented to 4 individual college students under the age of 21?

Also, how is it that the LLC that manages it has changed 3-4 times this year?

    According to the municipal code:

    Residence Districts.

    Section 12. - RS-2 Districts: General Single-Family.

Description and purpose. These districts exist for the protection of areas, most of them large in size, that have been and are being developed predominantly for single-family dwellings. Accordingly, the use of land and buildings within such areas is limited to single-family detached dwellings, and to such non-residential uses as generally support and harmonize with a low-density residential area. The non-residential uses permitted in RS-2 Districts, subject to adequate conditions and safeguards, are hereby found and declared to be the only appropriate such uses for such areas. It is hereby found and declared, further, that these regulations are necessary to the protection of these areas and that their protection is essential to the maintenance of a balanced community of sound residential areas of diverse types.

LAWN and general property not being maintained.

Absentee out-of-state landlord with NO PROPERTY MANAGER.

Neighbors have been mowing treebelt (3 times this season so far) closing gates that fly open, and picking up litter and trash to stem the blight tide on this block, accentuated by this vacant house with NO RESPONSIBLE OVERSIGhT.

Reported also today to rental agent (who is NOT property manager), LCI rep and Alderman for action in contacting owner.

House is in such bad shape it doesn’t qualify for subsidized housing.

There is a dangerous pothole on Goffe Street just off of Webster where it merges with Goffe. Drivers, myself included, have to swerve here to avoid being swallowed or damaging the car’s suspension, alignment and tires.

There are more potholes up Goffe Street, past the intersection by Hillhouse Hill School, all the way to the end in Westville.
