Sorry no picture, but there is trash behind and all around the boomerang-shaped concrete bench at the Ocean Ave end of the Doyle Greenway. Ever since we moved here in 2017, I've asked about a trash container next to that bench. We really, really, really, really need one there, for us walkers to use to pick up other people's lunch garbage, if nothing else. Thanks!

The young sycamores on the east side of Doyle between Ocean Ave. and 64th Street have been pruned two weeks since but the branches are still lying in the sunken garden. Unsightly and no doubt bad for the plants in the garden.

As the months have gone on and I've walked my dog along 67th street, I've noticed that the CFO Play Yard exercise business has duly moved out of doors, and the employees wear masks, and the stations are properly distanced, but none of the clients wears a mask. Today was the same. At the beginning of COVID time they were even running up the sidewalk and back down the street unmasked and (naturally) breathing hard. At the time I just crossed the street, but I can't help thinking it isn't safe for any of the clients, nor for the employees. It's great they are still in business, but seems like they should insist that their clients mask up? By now we know that it IS possible to breathe pretty freely while masked.

I live at 1378 Ocean, right next door to the business in the black-painted building, 1350 Ocean (which is closed due to the shelter-in-place order) For about a week now, this "Bounder" RV has been parked in front of this business, and the man living in it has been periodically helping himself to their water and electricity. Maybe he owns the building and pays the bills himself, but maybe the building owners would rather not be stuck with a big power bill when they are not bringing in any income at the site. Maybe it is time to ask this gentleman to move on and not return to this particular location again, which he visits pretty frequently, sometimes also leaving trash in the bushes there. I feel for him, but I also feel for the owners of that building. Thanks for listening, and over to you!

Big RV just showed up today in front of Sobe Kick-Boxing, which makes two enormous RVs in one stretch of Ocean Ave., taking up a total of about 7-8 parking spots. This street is heavily used for parking during the week. Two RVs just too darn much.

Old bike chain threatens to kill this tree once the tree grows a bit. Worth cutting off. ACROSS THE STREET from this is another tree so afflicted, that one with two bike chains on it, but not as tight. Save time and do these on 62nd the same time you rescue the redwood on 59th!

This fine old redwood is in danger of death by girdling from this cable. Two other trees in the neighborhood also have girdling issues (photos to follow) but this is most worrying. A trip to the Doyle/Hollis corridor between 59th and 62nd with a chain-cutter should solve this in a jiffy.

Hi, folks! This was just reported on Nextdoor by
Davina Abram. Thought you might like to follow up with a social worker?

"Hello, There seems to be a very sick lady living in her car on Ocean Avenue & Vallejo Street. She is on crutches and she has been there for a few weeks. It doesn't seem like anyone has helped her, but the police have been by there twice already from what I can see. I don't want to be nosey, but maybe someone should take her some water and food. She is in an older (maybe 90's) Grey Volvo. She is very timid."

The exterior alarm at MacPherson's Art Supply has been ringing for long periods, all day long, and did so at intervals last week as well. Could you please look into this as soon as possible? Those of us working from home find it nerve-racking. Thanks, Kate L.

I love living near the Greenway, but seems as if we could really use a trash receptacle next to the little bench where the greenway starts, at Doyle and Ocean. Lots of people picnic there and leave trash and sometimes diapers. Also look for an abandoned TV in the shrubbery behind the bench. Thanks for all you do!
