I am resubmitting the following traffic problems and would like for others to vote and comment on it. Please don't archive this post! There are still many dangerous and inconvenient issues to address! I would like to see a community meeting with all of the traffic coordinators and all agencies involved in the corrections of the traffic issues Anyone reading this, please comment if you would like to attend such a meeting. Here are some of the issues that I have experienced along with suggested solutions to the following questions:

    Q. Why is there a double yellow line that cuts into the left hand turning lane from 16th St to 94th Ave N? What is the purpose? It backs up left hand turners into the right hand lane and blocks traffic coming out of the businesses from exiting onto 16th. They sit through long lights and can only get out if someone is kind enough to give them a break.
SOLUTION: Remove that double yellow line so that it does not cut off the left turning lane before the light and allow drivers to actually stay in the correct lane rather than merge into the right lane in order to turn left!

    Q. Why is there a red arrow to turn right onto 16th St just after passing the post office? There is no traffic crossing paths from any direction. I see no significance to having a red arrow there at all.

    SOLUTION; Keep the arrow green.

PLEASE COMMENT AND VOTE THANK YOU!

  • Route 19 Eastbound Traffic In Pinellas Between Mainlands And 62nd St Pinellas Park Florida - Pinellas Park
The evening rush hour traffic is bottlenecked every night due to the very long signal delays at the following three locations:
Rte 19 atthe entrance to Walmart
Rte 19 at the entrance to Gandy Northbound
    Rte 19 at 62nd Ave N.
The traffic is much heavier on 19 than on the cross street areas. The timing is much too long of a wait on red yet the green does not allow a sufficient amount of cars through at any of these signals. A solution would be to allow a much longer green light to allow better traffic flow on Rte 19 at each of these locations. . I generally have to wait through a minimum of 3 signal changes to make it through one light! Timing is such a simple fix and would make rush hour traffic much easier if it were to be fixed!
  • Northbound Gandy Pinellas, Florida - Pinellas Park
I witness drivers crossing over from the extreme left lane to the right lane ramp entrance to Tampa Northbound or St Petersburg Southbound ramp. They cross over 3 lanes at the very last moment and this is a daily occurrence. I feel there should be some sort of there should be an overhead sign with lane arrows as soon as you pass the light at Gandy and 16th St. giving drivers an earlier heads up.
