Tree Issues تم حفظه في الأرشيف01930 Gloucester, MA, USA - GloucesterSwindon Field:
I just read the article in the GDT and heartily approve. Since you have the Marble Street Conservation area on your radar do you have plans to maintain the path from Swanson field over to the pond and on the path down to High Popples Road; there is a huge amount of greenbrier, fallen trees and there needs to be a rudimentary bridge over the wet area. -
Crosswalks تم حفظه في الأرشيف1 Rocky Neck Avenue Gloucester, MA, 01930, USA - GloucesterThere are two crosswalks after this pole. There should be a sign on this pole to warn drivers. I see there is a new 15 mph sign on Rocky Neck Avenue. That whole area from Gloucester Stage to Niles Beach should be 15 mph and enforced with speed cameras.

Trash or Recycling تم حفظه في الأرشيف35 Eastern Point Road Gloucester, MA, 01930, USA - GloucesterA few weeks ago when there was snow, the garbage was not picked up. I was told garbage is not picked up if it snows. The DPW publication (see attached photo) says nothing about no pick up on snow days. It should be in the publication. No point in having a rule if only insiders know it. Please add this information in the next publication.

Street Sign Issue تم حفظه في الأرشيف1 Eastern Point Rd Gloucester MA 01930, United States - GloucesterA tautological waste of tax payer's money. Is there anyone who does not know you cannot park at a hydrant or on a cross walk? We saw people erecting two signs yesterday which are a total waste of my money. Why didn't you put up some useful sign indicating to drivers there are two crosswalks. Why don't you care about pedestrians safety????😢😢😢🥲😢🥲

Beaches تم إقراره18–50 Hough Ave Gloucester MA 01930, United States - GloucesterThis picnic table needs to be moved before the Summer as it presents an attractive nuisance and is therefore a safety issue. Another big storm could see it slipping awa.
The erosion at Stage Fort Park is gob smacking; trees have new "air" roots and will likely topple over soon; there is debris all over the field. There is a fifteen foot gap between rip rap and field; What is the plan for dealing with all this? e -

Clarification:
I believe what you are saying is that the area between the wall and the road is owned by the homeowner and he can do whatever he or she wants on that area. Is that correct?
A while back I did see DPW men clearing sand from this area. Were they hired by the homeowner?
I further gather from your posting that the City has no Jurisdiction over areas between the road and homeowner property on Eastern Point Boulevard opposite Niles Beach across from the parking area nor anywhere on Farrington Avenue.
Would I be correct in assuming that Pedestrians must use the road to traverse these areas? If so, do you think this makes sense? Are you happy that it is totally safe? -
Street Sign Issue تم حفظه في الأرشيف8 Clarendon St Gloucester MA 01930, United States - GloucesterIs this a bona fide City of Gloucester sign. I have been told that homeowners in Rocky Neck routinely erect their own "no Parking" signs. Mayor Verga has touted that he loves enforcement; parking downtown and removal of electric charging cables at Rocky Neck for example. ....-

Sidewalk at Niles Beach in dire need of repair تم حفظه في الأرشيف0 - 8 Eastern Point Boulevard Gloucester, Massachusetts - Gloucester
In order to traverse Niles Beach from North to South safely, a pedestrian must use the decrepit sidewalk on the Eastern Side of the Road. This sidewalk is a mixture of piled up sand, broken concrete and broken asphalt. Ok, I understand the City is short of money and can't afford to fix this. However at the Northern end of this sidewalk a pedestrian is forced into the highway because of a huge area of poison ivy. Surely it would not cost much to get rid of this? Further on, moving North one encounters a Utility complex which once again forces one into the street. After that the sidewalk evaporates forcing one to cross the road at the bend - an extraordinarily dangerous spot where cars speed down the hill coming from downtown Gloucester. Just ask the residents of 1 Eastern Point Boulevard how many times cars crash into the barrier at that corner. I know of at least three incidents this year.
I have asked various councillors over the past seven years to look into this issue and have written on Click Fix to no avail. I do think it is time the DPW took a serious look at improving the look and safety of the Niles Beach area. At the very least removal of the poison ivy would certainly help.
