    This morning, as the Edgewood school crossing guard stood in the crosswalk holding her stop sign up, I stayed in the opposite crosswalk on Edgewood so my kids could cross the street and get to Edgewood school. A driver attempted to GO AROUND ME as kids were starting to ride their bikes across the street. I yelled at her to stop and she screamed obscenities at me, causing at least one child to start crying. Traffic calming measures around Edgewood School can’t come soon enough.

    An older model tan SUV license plate 705-HEL traveling eastbound on Edgewood Ave made an illegal left turn to go North on Central Avenue this morning, nearly running over my two school children walking to Edgewood school. There were witnesses.

    I was walking with my 8 and 9 year old children to school this morning, heading east on Edgewood Ave when we stopped on the northwest corner of Edgewood and Central. A westbound driver on Edgewood started to turn right to go north on Central Ave. As she pulled into the intersection, she waived for me and my children to cross in front of her. The driver of the tan SUV, license plate 705 HEL, apparently too impatient to wait for school children in an intersection, started to turn left to cut off the driver who had motioned for us to cross in front of her.

    I stopped him from hitting us by yelling at him and telling my kids to run. The tan SUV driver told me to shut the f*** up. My daughter cried the rest of the way to school she was so scared.
