This is a deathtrap waiting to happen. Drivers coming off 123 repeatedly fail to yield to traffic coming from the left on Forest Street, going straight through the intersection to Parade Hill Road.
I agree with this concern. Since a stop sign, as opposed to a yield at that point would interrupt the flow of traffic coming off of 123, a mandatory stop on forest street, at the Heritage Hill intersection would help to slow that traffic down and create intervals for yielders to utilize.
No, if people abided by common, basic traffic laws, this would not be an issue. Drivers need to adhere to the YIELD sign and those making a right from Forest to 123 need to use a TURN SIGNAL to differentiate from those continuing straight onto Parade Hill Rd. No one EVER signals and it makes those coming off 123 think everyone is just going to turn. It is going to take police enforcement to crack down on offenders and overall better driving to prevent an accident from happening.
I was almost killed the other day. A woman did not yield as she was turning off rte123 and she barely missed careening into my car, which was headed south on forest st., right in the middle of the intersection. To make it worse, she blared her horn at me, even though she was the one who violated the traffic rules by not yielding. Please close off this intersection for people turning off 123.
