Thank you for contacting the City of Huntsville - Traffic Engineering. Staff went out today and observed the southbound approach and found it to be detecting correctly. Staff also adjusted the eastbound and westbound advance detection to make sure it wasn't holding unnecessarily. Drivers on the side street should expect to wait 5 - 10 seconds before a call is placed into the traffic controller to ensure that a vehicle turning right doesn't stop the main street when not needed. The intersection was working as desired.
