this gift to the commons and the city was well announced to the downtown development authority board and staff and city administrator and no objection was raised or expected, we responded to the two questions posed as to our responsbility for care of the tree and text of our sign of welcome to the commons. while it may seem perplexing that we do this without asking permission, we, naively maybe, that authority was In the people's vote of 2018 to amend the city charter designating this land as an central park and civic center commons, and the recent city council "accelerating resolution" recognizing the Ann Arbor community commons initiating committee as an initiator. So we did something, well announced, no one said no, so enjoy. and make of it what you want, its just a holiday tree for tree town, it can be a hanukah bush, christmas tree, kwanza focus, solstice gift., whatever you like, some people began to decorate it, anyone in welcome to add to its beauty. ..
