I’m confused by your response. The city put a barrier up here 29 years ago to prevent kids on bicycles from going down the steep hill and out into the street (Needham) below. The current barrier was put in about 10 years ago and a ramp was put in about 30 feet south of the barrier so it lines up with the sidewalk on Buckingham, across the street. it is in good shape. You couldn’t possibly put a ramp where the public walkway meets Needham because A) it wouldn’t be in a crosswalk and b) you need a barrier here not an access way. If I can figure out how to attach a photo to this comment I will send you a picture of the ramp.

Scratch reason A above.....it would line up with the other side of Buckingham, however, there is a sewer manhole on the other side of the gate and most importantly you don’t want bicyclists, runners, skateboarders bursting out onto Needham.
