Description

Since the flooding of 2016, my neighbors and I (4707 and 4715 Ilkley Moor Lane) have been experiencing increasing amounts of water in our backyards whenever this area receives 2 or 3 inches of rain in a short amount of time.

I feel there are a number of conditions that have contributed to the increased water flow. These are conditions that I believe the county will have to address in order to stop the flow of water through our properties.

1. Increased water flow from Montgomery Road area into our development

2. The river bed that should carry the large amounts of water through the open space behind our homes to the culvert that runs from the open space and under Yorkshire Drive.

As you will see from the attachments (taken during the 12 August 2020, 3.5 inch rainfall), we are in serious trouble each time it rains heavily here in Brampton Hills. Please note, each time there is a cloudburst, the water level increases more rapidly than before.

Please note that 4715 Ilkley Moor Lane has had water in their basement twice in the last year due to heavy rains. Their lawn is continuing to be undermined after each rain event.

4707 Ilkley Moor Lane had a 9" hole dug into the yard after the 12 August 2020 rainfall.

The damage is getting worse with each rain episode. We need help.
