Description
At the bottom of Lyman Rd cars accelerate going north because of the incline but don't slow down. They continue through at a high rate of speed. Cars coming the opposite direction from Waterhouse treat the Waterhouse/Lyman intersection like a freeway onramp and travel down Lyman in excess of well over the speed limit. Then they reach to decline at the park and gain more speed. The two immediate problems are 1) there are visitors to Dimond Park are out walking/crossing the street. 2) vehicles, in both directions have gained too much speed and don't slow down the rest of the way up/down Lyman.
Just simply crossing the street fells like crossing a freeway.
Please refer to the photo at the proposed speed bump locations.
We need two speed bumps. One at the top of the incline, where the street levels and one up closer to the North East right hand bend. This in addition to a new 3 way stop intersection at Waterhouse would insure that cars are forced to drive the proper speed.

Enough with the accidents on Lyman!! There are too many distracted drivers not watching the speed limit. Including UPS trucks and large full size trucks. This street can not handle it. The residents can not handle it. Every other street has speed bumps for this same reason. It's time for Lyman Rd to get some.
This just happened!

Dear DOT and the city of Oakland,
I think the image in Issue ID: 8336936 can be done relatively easily. If the city doesn't want poor cement and make an island type thing on the corner, they can just put those plastic pole things that are inserted in the ground.
While people in our neighborhood haven't commented here, everyone has confirmed the fact that this intersection is very dangerous and many accidents have occurred. This should no longer be about if safety measures are necessary, but what safety measure are possible. If DOT still requires evidence, I will go door to door to collect it, but I would hope that it doesn't come to that.
Please, we need this fixed before one of us is killed. Many of us have small children here, and I implore you to consider what we go through and fear.
