Was never repainted this summer

The request was reviewed and sent to the Engineering Department. According to the City Ordinance the curb should have never been painted because there is no, "No Parking Restriction" in that area. If the vehicles are parked within 4' of the driveway call the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department and the vehicle can be ticketed. We also do not repaint all the yellow curb in the city on an annual basis.

The City painted the curb over 20 years ago because we couldn't get out of our driveways. Putting a ticket on a windshield doesn't get me in or out of my driveway when a car is in my way. The City had a responsibility to uphold and maintain things. The City painted the curb in the past and should continue in good faith to do so.

I understand that the curb was painted, but there is no Ordinance that would allow it to be enforced. As you said in your initial statement they are already parking in an area that is painted as the curb is still yellow, it just isn't fresh paint. If a person parks to close to your driveway the Police can ticket it and have it towed as that is a State statute. If it cost someone money, they probably won't do it again. The Engineering Department is looking at that area to see if it is warranted to be no parking, if the ordinance is changed it will get repainted, as it now it was painted and the process wasn't completed and Ordinance changed to match the condition.

I appreciate it being elevated and evaluated.i highly encourage the department to continue this as it has been since the late 80s early 90s when my father and other neighbors petitioned the city to have this curb painted like this. Calling the police to have the vehicle towed sounds like a great option for those that don't have to waste their valuable time engaging in those activities.
