This was much worse last growing season. I use this sidewalk occasionally to bicycle to the supermarkets and recall there being not enough space on the sidewalk for passage. Specifically, an approaching runner very graciously swerved way out onto the road, timing his move to coincide with a gap in traffic, while I maintained momentum in the greenbelt. Given the volume of vehicular traffic on the street, I bet the hedge is a necessity for the homeowner, but it needs to be regularly trimmed to keep the right of way clear.
Well, the week has passed. The pedestrian right of way is still blocked. How long does a property owner get to obstruct the sidewalk with no consequences -- months, years?
If any part of this untrimmed hedge is planted in our right of way, could the city notify the owner of its imminent removal if not kept trimmed? Please also see issue # 8162640:
