I agree! This needs to be cleaned up. It's a fire hazard, public safety hazzard, health hazard. . . This has been going on for over a year and it's outrageous that this mess is still there.

It’s terrible. I have reported this over 5 times. If the City of Oakland is concerned about public health, they will remove this encampment. How is this allowed?!?!

I live right next to it. I figure there is a reason his home is here and its best to let him be so it doesn't increase his trama and risks. there are two sidewalks, one on each side of the street. we have to recognize we are privileged to own homes here, but most people don't have that privilege. don't use public safety sham to disguise your greed and hatred.

Greed? Hatred? Let’s please be civil in communication. First of, its not greedy to pay taxes for well being of our surroundings. Secondly, there is absolutely no hate if we are hoping for basic hygiene for the person living on streets and people in homes who are effected by it. Let’s not forget kids of these so called privileged homes walking these streets. I urge too City of Oakland please help your residents.

I am asking that at least be tidy. I grew up as poor as a church mouse. Not enough to eat and holes in my shoes. Don’t lecture about greed and hatred because I face it everyday.

The oppressive force finds civility a necessity. You hate his homelessness and you want him to be different for you, greed. Leave him alone for now, you change and walk the other side of street. Then, there is no problem

Unfortunately I cannot be selfish. I support safety, hygiene, and wellness for every citizen. Specially when it effects my kids and my neighbor’s children. I hope this mess can be looked into and solved by our city as soon possible.

Thank you Pat. It’s been couple months since City of Oakland has acknowledged this issue. All we are hoping for is a cleaner, safer and hygienic neighborhood- for the ones living inside any trailer or/and everyone in the neighborhood. Thank you again for escalating it.

Keep your hate & greed comments to yourself. I am for clean, safe streets & code enforcement. I’ll keep calling Oakland until this neighborhood gets the attention it deserves.

I get email notifications from see click fix app and it clearly says - ‘acknowledged by city of Oakland’. So disappointing to know that the city officials aren’t even aware of it and we as public are waiting in vain for an action to be taken. I hope this app is legit? :-(

The app is definitely legit. Response to the notifications varies by department. Some departments don’t know how to monitor them or aren’t even aware of them. Others are on top of it. I would guess some departments are just swamped with requests from all channels.

I am working on setting up a meeting with the Golden Gate District Rep office. In meantime, they asked that I put together a list of 311 reports. I plan include the issue on 61st street, San Pablo Avenue, the two buses parked on Fremont and there is an on Stanford.
