I believe they are. They are all along Greene, Morgan and Washington Streets a few blocks surrounding the Powerhouse.

I saw that gravel was placed in the area the grates used to be. Any thoughts on replacing these grates? the gravel gets messy quickly when anyone walks over them the stones spill out on the sidewalk. Temporary solution?

All the tree grates on Pearl Street have also been stolen/missing. These grates seem to be public property; they are all along Greene Street, Washington, Bay, Morgan, etc between C Columbus and Second Street.

Many grates are still missing - is there something the city can do to prevent the grates from being stolen?

Clearly there is a problem with scrappers stealing these. There are CCTV cameras all over the city, you'd think they could be used to solve a crime instead of just monitoring our movements.

This is a common walking route I use for my dog.
I remember when the grates were taken up just before Hurricane Sandy made land fall. Unfortunately, the grates were just never replaced.

Removed for Sandy?! I suspect what is missing is being stolen - scrap metal business is booming. These people look professional and work quietly - but they have been seen stealing metal from construction sites, so I wouldn't be surprised if they are also responsible for the missing grates. The city should replace or fill in the squares with gravel. A turned ankle will hurt if one tips into the holes.

Does the city have a plan to replace the dead trees and make alternate plans for the missing grates? When the weather gets warmer - it'd be great if the city would act and deal with this OPEN case for over 2000 days.

These trees need love. What grates left have never been adjusted to allow the trees to grow, literally choking the trunk at its base.

The remaining grates are chocking the tree trunks. The circle needs to be widen by removing the inner rings.
