Please add a speed trap! I watch people and hear cars 24x7 go racing down East A street all day and night. While you added another crosswalk cars still don’t feel the need to stop for pedestrians or children coming to and from school. Or they are simply spending 50 plus mph to even stop for people! What will it take To have something finally done on this main road? fatally stuck by a vehicle ? I have never even seen a police officer even sit on this road with a radar gun! Burn outs and excessive speeding not stopping for people in the crosswalk is against the law. However when the law isn’t enforced I guess people can get away with it ?

This item was discussed at the June 2017 Transportation Advisory Commission Meeting. At the that time a speed survey was conducted on East A Street at 4th Street and the average speed was recorded at 27 MPH.
The City’s adopted Neighborhood Traffic Management Program provides four categories for traffic calming measures. These categories include Education and Enforcement, Operational Improvements, Minor Construction Improvements and Major Construction Improvements. In order to avoid unnecessary expenditure of funds and the potential for unintended consequences, the program provides that measures in the lower categories be implemented first with the category of measure increasing based on the effectiveness of implementation
At that time, June 2017, staff recommended Category 1 measures be implemented and reviewed for effectiveness. These measures included additional speed enforcement, placement of the radar speed trailer and review of existing speed limit sign placement.
This item will be forwarded again to the Police Department for additional enforcement as well as to Reka Aczel, Senior Civil Engineer. The Category 1 measures will be reviewed for effectiveness and at that time this item may be scheduled for review of the Transportation Advisory Commission.
You will receive an update on this item. Thank you for Fixin Dixon

I’ve complained about this repeatedly and they have done absolutely nothing.
So hopefully they actually set a speed trap
I listen to speeding and burnouts all day and all night long and I live right by the church and I watch people stand at the crosswalk and almost get hit on a daily basis
