Based on the small amount of trash present, it would appear that this was blown/ thrown there overnight and that the owner does indeed maintain their property. Please advise if this is still there in the next 24 to 48 hours and we will send an inspector to investigate. Although this would likely result in an inspector issuing a warning or a summons, we also want to work with the community so that we are only heavy handed with summonses when truly warranted.

Hey Rich - so I reported this on Saturday - whatever is there if you are seeing it still has been there at least that long. I don't long for people to be fined heavy handed constantly, but this whole surrounding area, despite the fact that through unrelenting requests by me years ago resulted in DPW crews cleaning up and down Duncan between West Side and 440, is still unacceptably dirty most of the time. I don't walk down Delaware often, but there is almost always an overabundance of trash on the ground. If the city can't be aggressive about cleaning it up and doesn't want to be more pro-active enforcing it, it feels like you are essentially telling me that I should just accept it and live with it. I was literally told by a resident the other day who through garbage on the ground that I myself went and picked up that it was no business of mine picking up garbage and that it was the "city's job." That is the mentality you are going up against here. I'm sorry to rant but I go above and beyond as a resident/homeowner for not only maintaining my property but the neighborhood, and I'm just sick and tired of seeing all these efforts be in vein.
