I am so glad someone is finally trying to address this as an issue. I drive down barlow all the time. I can't tell you how may times kids try to run cross the street to beat traffic. The only problem is that the cars coming from barlow passing Getz doesn't have the ability to see whats ahead until the last minute. The corner or Getz and Barlow definitely needs a 4 way stop sign + speed bumps before anyone gets hurt.

THAT STREET IS VERY DANGEROUS. I ALMOST GOT INTO A HEAD ON COLLISION BEACUSE THERE IS LIMITED SIGHT DISTANCE. THEY SPEED THRU THERE WITH VERY LITTLE ROOM.

This street seriously need something to slow the drivers before someone gets killed

I just bought a house there, and I am terrified to turn left on Barlow and Getz. The cars run down so fast as if they are going 50 mph, on both my left and right side!! Something must be done now about this like placing a four way stop sign to slow down this traffic, otherwise people will die in crashes. Is that what they are waiting for????

The corner of Barlow Ave and Getz Ave in Staten Island, NY, is so dangerous; I dont even know where to start. There is a house in the middle of the two way street. This house is a blind spot to disaster. To increase everyones safety, a four way stop sign needs to be placed on Getz Avenue and Barlow Avenue. Another one should be placed on Eltingville Blvd and Barlow Avenue. I visit family on the dead end street of Getz Ave, and driving out of the block is scary because you cannot see the oncoming fast speed traffic since that house is a blind spot to drivers. Drivers speed down Barlow Avenue like there is no tomorrow because there are no lights or even stop signs. Please help me make this happen, before many more accidents occur at these corners.

Please make this corner safer. I fear having my kids cross this street because of all the crazy drivers that speed down this avenue from both sides!!! A four way sign on Barlow & Getz and another on Eltingville blvd and Barlow, will surely make this area a safer place to cross the street without the fear of the death of a child or elderly who are able to run across before the speeding car kills them first. I agree that house there is a blind spot. Do something about this!!!!

This is the worst intersection in Staten Island, and no one has ever addressed this issue. It's sad really....

I really hope the put a 4 way stop sign really soon. I work in the morning and my 2 kids ages 10 & 7, both crosses that street every morning to go to school. My friend told me that she tries to be there in the morning to help them cross when possible because she see them run cross very fast because you you can't see if a car is coming due to the blind spot. I swear if my kids ever get hurt due to this intersection they will have a big law suit. I have complained several of times and the responses I recieved were ridiculous.

about 2 months ago there was almost a three car accident involving an old lady trying to cross the street. As she was crossing "slowly" a car that was driving up barlow past getz had to jerk the wheel because of the speed he was going plus the short distance blind stop. As he jerked out of the ladies way he almost went into a head on collision with a car coming down barlow which that car turned out of the way which almost hit a car that was coming up getz trying to turn right on barlow. Crazy!!! Something has to be fixed here!!!!!

WHY ARE THEY WAITING SO LONG TO FIX THIS PROBELM. IT IS SO OBVIOUS THERE IS A TRAFFIC HAZARD AT THIS LOCATION. YOU HAVE TO GO HALF WAY INTO THE STREET JUST TO SEE IF TRAFFIC IS COMMING.

I am just waiting for someone to correct this traffic disaster waiting to happen, or is that what they are waiting for? I surely hope no one loses their life here... but it seems extremely possible. I just hope it is not me who gets hurt or I will sue. I have evidence that nothing is being done, and many people complaining about the same situation. I will print all my notes out, and save them in a folder. Once I get into an accident on that street (BIG or SMALL), I'm SUING... and I'll sue BIG!

WE SHOULD GET THE NEWS ENVOLVED. THEN MAYBE THE CITY WILL DO SOMETHING.
