Poking around this site I'm concerned about whether we're just talking to ourselves. While all this info is sent to the various agencies, departments, there's no evidence that anything else happens. I filtered for "Acknowledged" issues and came up with ZERO. Don't want to weary ourselves out trying to persuade each other! We need to bring our distress to our Civil Servants ... (everyone IS registered to vote, right?)

I have friends who do not allow their children to come home on the school bus because the bus drops them off on the pond side of the street and from there they have to cross the street without any light or crosswalk - and in the winter it is after dark. Therefore, the parents go pick up their kids and bring them home from school. What a waste.

There has been no action to fix this problem other than yet another "study" by the DPR. In the meantime, if one of the 300 residents wants to cross the 30 feet to Jamaica Pond at a marked crossing, they have to walk into Brookline. There are no marked crossings on the Boston side. We are effectively landlocked. This is in flagrant disregard of the DOT mandate that controlling authorities must provide safe crossing for pedestrians. Our local Representative Sanchez does not answer phone calls or e-mails.

The only thing that has happened since the accident last September is that drivers are far more willing to stop for pedestrians. Unfortunately, the people in charge are not similarly motivated.
