Your sidewalk was inspected on 10/10/2017 and rated 60/100. The Trees & Sidewalks Program has limited funding and only the capacity to repair those sites with the most severe damage first. Homeowners are eligible for Trees and Sidewalks Program inspections every three years. It hasn't been three years since your previous inspection. Please make a new request in October, 2020.

According to NYC Administrative Code Sidewalk Rules, property owners are responsible for the maintenance of the sidewalk adjacent to their properties. The Trees & Sidewalks program aims to assist property owners in severe cases of sidewalk damage caused by tree roots, however, enrollment in the program does not excuse property owners from their responsibility to maintain the sidewalk in a safe condition.
For many homeowners, repairing the sidewalk through an independent contractor is the quickest solution and may avoid liability for a defective sidewalk. If the homeowner would like to repair the sidewalk at their own expense, their contractor may request a free sidewalk consultation and free permit to work around the tree by visiting the NYC Parks’ website.

Thank you, DLopez! The inspection was 1.5 years ago. The sidewalk has lifted even more since then. It’s a brand new slab of concrete. I can fix the concrete but it will keep happening because of the tree roots will keep getting larger. This unacceptable that the city can’t do anything for me. I even requested that the city remove that tree and add a new one.
