Any update on this? I just viewed a near missed accident as school let out today.

The City Engineering Dpt reviewed this intersection in 2018 due to concerns related to the traffic control signage. Traffic counts were performed along with reviews of the vision triangles and the appropriateness of the yield signs on Mead St. Based upon the counts, the primary traffic usage is along Hill St which make the yield sign along Mead St appropriate. Furthermore, the vehicle counts, accident history, adequate vision, etc. would not warrant a stop sign. The vision related to fixed objects was suitable although pedestrians and other turning vehicles could block vision at times. The counts were quite low overall. The most notable safety issue during the counts was the pedestrian drop off on Mead St at the corner. The school was noticed of this observation and was provided recommendations to improve the safety issues during drop-off and pick-up times.

Intersection signing has been evaluated and confirmed appropriate as is.
