Description
This past summer a new sidewalk was put at the corner of South Street in Winthrop Street with a bump out. Attached is a picture of the ice that keeps forming on the sidewalk because it does not drain the water when the snow melts. we cleared paths into the street through the snow but the water will not drain that way it just sits and puddles and then turns to ice. it’s a dangerous situation when are coming around from Winthrop Street to South Street and I don’t want anybody to get hurt. someone needs to check that out we do shovel and snow blow the whole front of a house and put icemelt but it’s not helping somehow it has to drain towards the street to drop the water from puddling and turning to ice.

Problem still not addressed. Not sure what the problem is why nobody can take care of this issue that was caused by the city. but we’re now into another winter with the probability of somebody falling on that ice when it melts and re-freezes
Please I am asking Again for someone to address this issue ASAP

DPW and Engineering reviewed this location on multiple occasions to @#$% the condition. Icing may be a result of blocked pathways to the inlets located in the island. If the inlets are blocked, water may pool on the sidewalk.
If this continues to be a problem, please feel free to create another Request.
