This has been a long term issue and I agree, there seems to be little enforcement to keep the road clear. So much so in fact that I recall Chelsea FD were unable to use the road at times since they could not move through the double parking, which of course, is a huge public safety issue.

I have never seen a more tamed city and Police departments in my life. It’s comical. Call a LOCAL tvstation, they are dying for local stories. Have them film the cruisers and parking enforcement officers driving around the double parked cars. Especially when it’s a public safety issue negligence.

The Parking Enforcement Officers monitor the area on a daily basis and instruct all violators to move their vehicles immediately. We notified the Police Department and the Parking Enforcement officers to continue patrolling the area. This is an ongoing issue and acknowledge that this an important public safety concern.

Unless things have changed, the parking enforcement officers are not empowered to issue tickets to people who double-park. As one of them explained to me, double-parking is a moving violation and only Chelsea Police can write tickets to those. We either need CPD out there writing tickets, or the parking enforcement officers need to be allowed to do so. Telling double-parkers to move it along does absolutley nothing to stop people from continuing to do so. The City must start taking real and demonstrable action.

This is a sanctuary city, meaning they take these violators under their wing and protect them all thecway to the grave. If they stop to ask for drivers’ license to issue a ticket they will not get one and this *might* lead to something else, depending on the officer and time of the day. And the city government want to make sure at all costs these people are very comfortable here. There is no other explanation why this has not been addressed.

How many tickets were issued by CPD for double parked cars last month? Where do we access that information? I read about this daily and see it happening on broadway every single day as i drive. Still nothing

Sanctuary city has nothing to do with it, and you really need to stop forcing that conclusion - it reflects badly on you.

And the reason nothing happens is? After watching this thread for months, i am ok if it reflects poorly on me. Sorry if i touched the nerve.
