Lewis Tree Service was the contractor doing the work. I understand that the trees must be trimmed away from wires, but these were not arborists by any stretch of the imagination. They hacked their way through the whole neighborhood.

Duke takes the easy way out of their responsibility. The power lines and cable who probably own the poles should all be buried based on the hurricanes and bad weather. Instead we deal with this and outages because lines go down in weather and overgrown power lines. Horrible customer service Duke does, because Saint Pete allowed their monopoly.. we need power coop and everyone to go SOLAR!

They are a Duke problem Dude...seriously, they rape us in power costs and now their lien own our property so they can do little is our problem...you must work for Duke...

Most trees planted on the alley have been here for years...we inherited the ones under our power lines that ALL were planted by the city, just like on the row..next time your power is out, mine won’t be...have solar and generator...good luck

Unfortunately the palm is located on private property and the city would not be able to assist - in addition, trees in the Right Of Way abutting private property are the responsibility of the abutting private property owner - In this particular case I would suggest the property owner reach out to Duke Energy Customer Service and have a representative meet them onsite to discuss the issue further. Those are Sabal Palms (Rat Palms) They reseed everywhere and weren't planted. Cut them out and get rid of your Rat and Raccoon problems in your yards. If you shine a spotlight up into them at night , it can look like a Habitrail full of rats .

They are native palms and very durable. You cant kill them unless you cut the top of the trunk completely off. Its still there for both so it will be filled out by summer.
