There was someone murdered across the street when the Stella’s crew ran the deli next to GNC. The weekends get rowdy with people coming down to Newark Avenue going to Porta and every other bar pumping out alcohol. Having a camera there serves to document any safety issues that may arise and protects the interests of residents living in the area. It also protects business owners. This should be of little concern unless you are performing illegal activity and don’t want it documented or it is a direct invasion of privacy based on the camera’s positioning.

Michelle, I am not against the camera. I am questioning the owner's right to drill it into a tree that the city owns. I don't think it should be any more right than attaching it to a light or utility pole.

Every person or entity having control over any wire for the transmission of an electric current along a public rights-of-way shall at all times guard all City trees through which or near which such wire passes against any injury from the wire or cable or from the electric current carried by it. The device or means used shall in every case by subject to approval by the Division of Parks and Forestry.
