Wow, somebody finally did it. Those giraffes have been there since I was a kid (far as I can remember). iirc this is the second time one of the giraffes has been damaged. The first being a fire right by the shorter giraffe behind the one in the picture.

Caltrans is trying to evict these people and put black metal fence around this property and the City of Oakland if fighting them all the way. There is no system in place by the state or the city to deal with these people who do not want to be helped other than endless handouts and cash for there many addictions. All at the taxpayer expense. Kick these loser out and restore these beloved Giraffes murals. Maybe a plaque detailing the illegal trophy hunting and slaughter for bush meat of wild giraffes in Africa would be helpful.

Agreed. Requesting re-opening. There are also two unleashed dogs running amock in that camp. I can't even walk my dog along MacArthur for fear of them.
