So....is anything going to be done??- can literally watch vehicles fly through the intersection during school zone hours every single day... police will occasionally patrol the area, but then disappear never to be seen again. I appreciate the city having concerns to ban plastic straws but how about protecting our kids-thanks

Thank you for your SeeClickFix post dated January 17, 2019. The Mayor has asked me to respond directly to you regarding the school crossing zone at 22nd Avenue North and 58th Street. On January 29, 2019, Selective Enforcement Officer Arrison conducted traffic enforcement during the morning school zone and issued one citation for 26 mph in a 15 mph zone. The following day, Selective Enforcement Officer Steffek conducted traffic enforcement in the afternoon in the 40 mph zone approaching the school zone. Selective Enforcement Officer Steffek issued three unlawful speed citations with 63 mph recorded as the fastest speed in this 40 mph zone. The Selective Enforcement will continue to conduct traffic enforcement in the area. If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact Traffic Sergeant Burris at (727) 893-4035. Thank you for the response.The reson the flashing lights were suggested, is that the school zone is a long stretch, and drivers tend to lose their bearings on beginning and end of the zone, especially after waiting for the light to change. Is there a possibility, in the future, of installing additional school zone signals to this intersection?
