Description
Recently the gas lines were replaced in alleys by a company SEC for Teco.
Multiple locations between 21st st to 25th street , alley behind 5th ,6th and 7th ave n.
They dug up the pavement and cut square access points with a concrete cutter.
They did not pave over those holes again but instead placed the pieces back in.
This is a suitable solution for the alley as it will crack and fail causing more potholes.
This company needs to be held accountable and finish the job correctly.

We agree with the comments made regarding the present condition of the alleys. The crews came in and did what they did and did not appear to be concerned with the condition of the alleys when they were done. No only are there holes where cement was removed and not filled back in, but there are holes made and nothing done with them, at least that is evident. Also, some holes that were made, the cement was just piled back into it and left that way. So pieces of cement is just jagged.
In addition to the holes, there are dozens of cigarette butts left in piles on the ground. Not only is it disgusting, but it shows again that the folks doing the work had no respect for our properties. Photo attached for review. (I have several more photos but not able to upload them all, but if contacted, am happy to share them.)

Again however they have not bothered to back fill with tar the holes correctly. Because the city no longer paved alley easy it is important that any contractors leave the area the same if not better.
I will follow up until resolved

Okay, what I just wrote (the above) is a perfect example of how, we as St. Petersburg residents, can complain over how put out we can unnecessarily be when things are just perfect enough for us.

The TECO representative has been notified of the issues surrounding the gas line improvements to the alleys and has assured the City the subcontractor has been notified to correct them. They have another person coming to ensure all notifications are done ahead of the crews in a timely manner and all areas will be secured and returned to their original condition or better. TECO will have their contractor make sure the city inspector is being notified daily of all work being done. TECO inspectors will ensure all job site areas are being left safe. if work can’t be completed that day they will backfill and barricading off.
Again, thank you for your patience and understanding. Please report future issues to the SeeClickFix application or call the Mayors Action Center.
