I reported this months ago. This should also be reported to city attourney.

Recently a friend was confronted inside the laundromat next to Hannafords by a homeless person who was drunk and threatening. He was afraid to contact police while the homeless person waited outside after the encounter. Another customer however contacted the police but by the time they responded the homeless person walked away into this area in question. Police took a statement and left. Scary!

These folks that are staying in Leddy are not using needles and there is no danger to the public. We have visited with them and assisted them the best we can over the years they have frequented the park. Compassion, tolerance and patience is all that is needed here. Folks that can assist them have been notified. The parks department is doing there job with compassion and respect that all human beings deserve.

This issue has been reported several more times but those issues get treat as duplicates and closed while no one responds to the issue. What is going to be done? 3 months, no answer.

"He" was later picked-up by the BPD.

I won't mention the 90 year old man who passed away last year on that very bench. No Worry, it was from natural causes. He was a very nice and kind man. Missed by many in the area.

The individual who on occasion lives in different areas of the park has been doing so on and off over the past five years. We are currently in the process of organizing with the individual removing his belongings from the site and continuing to escalate our response via legal processes that this not be allowed to continue. It is important to note that the police have indicated the individual does not pose a threat and anything within the area of his encampment not be taken or removed as it is legally his property.
