The parking lot is filled with debris, is uneven and hostile to Colt Park visitors who might wish to park there. This environment ecnourages dumping of household waste, litter and unsavory activity.

The City of Hartford has an agreement with a nearby business that they can use the lot if they pave it. So far 1/4 of it has been paved - nicely done, but on the weekends it is locked, it should be open to the public on the weekends for visitors to Colt Park. It is critical the remainder of the lot needs to be paved very soon, the park is heavily used and additional parking is required, especially at that entrance to the park.

With no other public parking available, and street parking limited by reason, it is reprehensible that the lot was blocked by gravel. The lot needs to be made available, post-haste.

Just checked the Curcombe St entrance and it is still BLOCKED by a large berm of gravel as shown in original photo.

We are facing another weekend of sports leagues playing games in Colt Park with nowhere to park. Sports leagues PAY the City for use of the field and have the right to expect safe, legal parking areas being made available to them. What is the problem with getting this parking lot opened? 15 minutes with a backhoe is all that it would take.

The vehicle entrances have now been opened and the lot is finally usable again. Thanks!
