This problem has not been addressed, and the recent rains have caused several days of water across the street. Winter is here, and that water could be ice the next time we get rain!

I think the picture was taken when my neighbor was closing their swimming pool. They dump into their drainage pipes, but the pipes in this neighborhood dump into the yards, and having a lot of water causes them to overflow. I thought it was a good photo because it shows specifically the problem on the road, without having the distraction of general water in the area. We get the same flooding whenever there is a heavy rain, and the problem has gotten worse over the years.

We look to see if the problem is man made, i.e. as you said neighbors draining their swimming pool, pipes that were installed by residents that direct water to the roadway. Such pipes installed by residents are not allowed by code as they create these icy conditions in the winter. Other effects of winter weather is the freeze, thaw effect. I will observe the area for a while to see if any maintenance is needed. Please feel free to attach pictures here if you encounter an issue. Thanks Jim B.

The pipes you refer to were not installed by residents. This is how the homes were built (Ours was built in 1957), and the county approved them. We are living with the consequences.

The County never approved these pipes, a builder may have installed them as a way to direct water. When water comes from private property to the County Roadway, it is the responsibility of the property owner to address the water on their property, not by discharging it to the roadway, which could be a hazard to the public.
