  Antwon, this camp has been here forever. This area was suppose to be a mini park area but it got overran by this encampment. All public parks including Lake Merritt is now under siege and fair game for encampments. Our Mayor does nothing about it.

  Bailey, they're not getting my vote. My 23rd St/MLK has an encampment for over 3 years and nothing yet has been done. I'm starting a grass roots effort in this block to get every residents to vote otherwise.

  I just want to remind people to vote in November. I have to imagine there will be a candidate who will clean up the streets of Oakland.

  You are right about action suddenly happening as the election gets closer. For years city officials have been preaching compassion and patience to those of us who have lost playgrounds, walking access to shops and errands, clean & safe sidewalks. At the same time, they allowed this problem of allowing mentally ill people to take charge and grow out of control to the point where the cost of imposing sanity and sanitation will be enormous.
