This is the THIRD time in 10 DAYS that the storm drains have "Backed Up" and FLOODED the street during a heavy rain! What is it going to take for a Supervisor to meet with me in person about this ??

Thank you for "reopening" the case. I will be more than willing to "meet" with an Engineer about this ongoing problem, as I have an "excellent" solution to "fix" the problem after observing it for "years". Please have someone contact me via e-mail so we can set up a face to face meeting about this ongoing problem. I eagerly await your reply. Thank you.

IT FLOODED AGAIN! It started raining very heavy around 6:20PM today, 6.17.19. By 6:35PM it was flooding again! The level if the water was just over the top of the storm drain tops. It backed up the street South of my house by one more house - a good 150 feet. It started to go down as the rain slowed by about 6:50PM and it continued to rain “normally” until about 7:50PM. This is becoming a daily thing and MUST BE FIXED! We need the County's HELP!!!!

Status update: This area has been an ongoing street flooding issue during very heavy rain events, and we have exhausted all of our avenues in cleaning and maintaining flow thru the entire system. Starting from the curb inlet in front of 3547 Glossy Ibis Ct. thru the neighborhood across Belcher Rd to Dove Hollow Phase II to the terminus in the HOA sediment pond. Crews also have cleared the pipe that passes thru the eastside berm of Bee Pond ditch to the terminus in the Cypress Head on the southeast corner of Innisbrook’s property. Staff have been on site and have all come to the same conclusion, the drainage system is clear.
Moving forward, we have asked Environmental Mgmt Dept. to inspect the sediment pond for the two neighborhoods to see if it is compliant with county standards. Also they will check the channel that runs through the Innisbrook Golf course for blockage. Both these locations are private property issues and Pinellas County Public Works, Stormwater Operations would not have maintenance jurisdiction.
The final step would forwarding all gathered documentation and correspondence to Watershed Planning and Engineering Staff, to address as a possible future project.
Stormwater Operations will monitor this SCF for comments and postings. Please be assured Pinellas County Public Works is diligently working to help resolve this issue, but to reiterate, the operations and maintenance division responsibility is to keep the County assets working properly to maintain flow.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact our Customer Service Department at (727) 464-8900 or via email at publicworks@pinellascounty.org and reference Service Request #59922.
Thank you😊

Well, it's about time I (we) received a status update! The bottom line is that it still floods during heavy rains! I (we) expect to hear from someone with the Environmental Mgmt Dept. about the "upcoming" inspection of the sediment pond AND also the the channel that runs through the Innisbrook Golf Course for any blockage.
I (we) also expect to hear from the Watershed Planning and Engineering Staff on their recommendation for a "future" project to FINALLY correct this ongoing problem! It has been going on for many years and all the people who own homes in this area are FED UP with all the delays in fixing it! Be reminded, that the County has a LOT of very "Unhappy" tax payers here, and I (we) do not want to be "forced" to contact the Board of County Commissioners and also local TV stations about this, but WILL, if necessary!

Status Update: Environmental Mgmt completed a thorough investigation of the Dove Hollow I & II development site plans as well as a neighborhood site visit was executed. The inspection concludes that the capacity of the stormwater pond on Colonial Dr. is not impacting the system’s performance.
1) Pipes in the system were fully surcharged, and the level of water in the system is governed by the earthen berm spillway in the pond behind 2111 & 2123 Colonial Dr.
2) The inlet pipe is clear of any obstructions and there appears to be no issues with sedimentation in the system.
3) The outfall of the pond is clear, as are the ditches adjacent to Innisbrook, as well as the final outfall into Bee Pond.
4) The drainage system relies on head pressure at the curb inlets to move the water. The head of the system will likely have temporary nuisance flooding until the head pressure reduces enough to allow water to escape into the Glossy Ibis Curb inlets.
5) Observed the system to be in good operating condition and the behavior of this system is in sync with existing design conditions.
Public Works Stormwater Operations has exhausted all options to help reduce the street flooding issue on Glossy Ibis. Environmental Mgmt has inspected the system and the pond and determined the stormwater pond is not impacting the system’s performance. A Capital Improvement Project package for drainage has been submitted to Watershed Planning & Engineering to evaluate your flooding concerns and possible consideration for future Capital Improvement Project. A project here would have to be evaluated against others. Capital improvement program funds are allocated for drainage improvements based on a number of factors that place a ranking on the project. We are aware Paul Miselis, P.E., ENV SP responded to an email you sent July 18, 2019.
We know that this is not the resolution you and your neighbors hoped for. However, it is also good information to know that the system is functioning well. Watershed Planning and Engineering will let you know the final results of the evaluation once it is completed.
