We enjoy the natural cover of pine needles here on Palm Ln. and throughout our Lake Pasadena neighborhood. This neighborhood is known for its pine and oak trees. I do not have a problem with them. They keep our dust down on this dirt road.
I live at 212 palm lane and am not sure of why these people at 213 Palm lane keep bothering you at the city with this same issue .The pine needles have been here and will continue be here for a very long time. We have several pine trees that drop pine needles naturally all along Palm Lane This neighbor (213)will come out in the wee hours of the morning and rake the needles off of what he thinks is his property (the center of the road) and tosses the pine needles on my side. (why there are clumps) Please inform these people that these pine needles are here naturally and we can not avoid the fact that we have a beautiful country like area. They are also helpful in keeping the dust down on those dry days.
The pine needles that fall naturally from the beautiful trees along Palm lane add to the beauty of the road. Many people walk this road for that reason.
I live on Palm Lane, and I believe we spotted the resident from 213 Palm Ln dumping wheelbarrows of pine needles in front of 212. I can only surmise they're trying to make it look unsightly to cause a commotion. The natural pine needles that drop do a wonderful job of keeping the dust down , and provide a serene beauty to our little road.
I live in the neighborhood as well and there are many, many pines trees on Palm Ln. They fall naturally throughout the year and they do keep the dust down. It's probably my favorite street in the neighborhood. The only clumps in the road are bundles of what appears to be cypress mulch that someone must have put out there.
Wow.. I cannot believe someone actually has the time to waste the city's resources on such a ridiculous and innocuous complaint.. Everyone on Palm Lane enjoys and understands this is part of the beauty and appeal to this little slice of heaven in the city.. Hope the city can see this as a non-issue just like all of the other residents on Palm Lane do.
Thank you all for your feedback. The City does not provide street sweeping service for non-paved roads, therefore, pine needles that naturally fall from the surrounding trees will not be removed by the City. However, it is a violation of City code to dump items, including pine needles, onto the right of way. Since the initial complaint noted that the pine needles were dumped at this location, this issue will be turned over to Codes Compliance.
Code inforcement should begin their investigation at 213 for people dumping debris in roadway. Several neighbors have seen these people dumping debris in front or 212 to make the road look unsightly.
