Description
Traveling on Twin Rivers, headed towards the Mall, the lanes at Governor Warfield need to be adjusted for traffic flow. Currently there are four lanes - two right turn, one straight and one left turn. With the new road configurations at Twin Rivers and Little Patuxent, and with the increase traffic from the new housing in Wilde Lake, it makes more sense to have one left turn, one straight and left turn, one straight and one right turn - so that it will allow for two straight through lanes. I witness cars going straight through from the outside left turn lane as the traffic backs up in the one and only straight through lane. It would make more sense to have the additional straight through lane.

Thank you for your feedback. Based on time period listed above, field visits were completed for the subject location to observe traffic along eastbound Twin Rivers Road at Governor Warfield Parkway. Double left turn was observed to be the predominant movement and no violations associated with utilizing the outside left turn lane as a through movement to stay on Twin Rivers had occurred at the time of observation. The queue on the single through lane also cleared out within the allotted green time for that direction.
No additional action will be pursued at this time. However, we will note to observe the intersection again once the school year begins to identify any other issues.
Thank you for reporting your issue/request to the Howard County Department of Public Works. This issue has been addressed and will be closed in Tell HoCo. If you require more information, please contact Department of Public Works Highways office 410-313-2430.
