SERVICE REQUEST:

WEST OAKLAND: The intersection of San Pablo Ave and Filbert St. in West Oakland has a serious blind spot for vehicles
coming from Filbert St. and turning left (north) onto San Pablo Ave. Cars park in front of Sylvester Rutledge Manor on the west side of that corner and effectively
block visibility to oncoming traffic. Often it is a van that transports the residents, making it even more difficult to see
cars coming.

Many years ago I petitioned the city to paint the curb red for about 15 ft from the intersection. It helped immensely
but over time the red curb was painted over (although remnants of that paint is still evident) and cars began to park
right up to the corner.

I’ve had a business in the area for 27 years and drive through this intersection daily.
CAN THIS CURB BE PAINTED RED AGAIN SO AS TO AVOID SERIOUS COLLISIONS AT THIS INTERSECTION?
