Bike lockups have been installed too close to the building, preventing cyclists from being able to match up both tires with vertical parts of the lockup. Please have installers reposition them at least 1 additional foot away from building so they can be utilized fully.

This rack is on private property, and City staff have repeatedly asked the owner to move it so it's more useful, without success. Staff are contacting the owner again now to make this request, but the City has no authority over the placement of the rack.

Thanks for the info and background. Out of curiosity: Is the placement of infrastructure amenities like bike racks included as part of the plans for a development project? If yes, and if the placements are different than what was approved, doesn't the City then have at least some authority over enforcing corrections?
