The problem occurred again, so this is not resolved. It's not appropriate to blast a loudspeaker through wood, glass and masonry to let someone know that their ride is waiting for them. NJ Transit is not being held to the same standards and statutes as the rest of us. We need to get a real resolution to this problem. Currently my complaint is just getting kicked around until it is closed without comment, with no resolution. If I stand outside a residence or business and shout through a bullhorn, do you think someone would call the police? That's the equivalent of what NJ Transit is doing, and there is NO accountability or effort to make a change to procedure. Please, if you are serious about improving Jersey City, pursue this matter until resolved! Peaceful enjoyment IS in the statutes, and closing this without resolution is denying everyone on this end of the block that very thing! Thank you.

I'm continuing to follow this issue for new developments, as the problem still occurs regularly. Please use all means at your disposal. I have tried working with NJ Transit directly for more than two years, have been given assurances that they would address the problem, and then nothing changes.

Hello again. I haven't yet heard from JCP or NJ Transit regarding what they plan to do to correct this ongoing problem. Please see what you can find out. I ask that this issue remain open until there is a definitive answer. Thank you.

Same problem just occurred again, minutes before this update. This is unacceptable. I'm not getting any response from the city, from NJ Transit, from the police, or anyone. How is this allowed to persist? I need to hear from someone about what direct (not passive) steps are being taken.

I appreciate your keeping this issue open until we can come to a solution. Since the shuttles dropping off and picking up from a small medical office across our residential street, I think the best solution is for the drivers to call the reception desk or the patient to tell them that their shuttle has arrived. It is a reasonable solution, and one that can be implemented easily. Thank you.

Has the city reached an agreement with NJ Transit on this matter? I will leave the issue open until I receive confirmation of such. To date, there has been no apparent change in practice or policy regarding the original complaint. Please pursue the matter with NJ Transit. It should be a simple matter to resolve, as outlined in the original complaint and in some of my follow-up comments. Thank you.

This situation HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. At precisely 10:33 a.m. today, May 1st, NJ Transit once again used their public address loudspeaker to announce their arrival by BLARING "YOUR TRANSPORTATION HAS ARRIVED".

Again, the decibel level of their PA system is designed to be heard through closed doors, closed windows, and multiple solid walls for the sound to PENETRATE to the interior of the building. THAT IS IN NO WAY APPROPRIATE.

What if I were to take a bullhorn and stand outside the doctor's office shouting into it? Would that be deemed appropriate? Of course it would not, and I would probably be reported to the police for causing a nuisance or breaking a statute.

This system is crude, invasive, and UNNECESSARY. I don't understand why there is an unwillingness to put a stop to this behavior. I live here and work here. YES, WORK. Please stop ignoring this issue. I have included a photo of the NJ Transit vehicle from this morning.

Once again NJ Transit Access Link is blaring their PA loudspeaker, at building-penetrating decibel levels, to announce their arrival to doctor's office patients. Today's incident occurred at 11:40 a.m.

According to NJ Transit's Community Relations liaison they are "required like our regular commuter buses are to announce destinations". However, it has been requested that the speaker be turned down. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach out to NJ Transit at 973 491-8073.

Thank you, however I have spoken to NJ Transit about this on more than one occasion. I've always been told that someone would contact me. No one from NJ Transit has ever followed up. Here's the problem. If I bought a bullhorn and stood out front of that doctor's office and made announcements of my own, what do you think would happen? I'm pretty sure they would call the police because I would be disturbing the peace.

NJ Transit is DISTURBING THE PEACE. Until I am contacted with permanent solution, this case remains open.

Again, it is disturbing the peace. This shouldn't be so difficult to remedy. A driver's call to the front desk is not difficult. My sense of it at this point is that there is a lack of concern about the issue. I am not the one causing the problem. NJ Transit needs to contact me, because they DO NOT follow up with me. That's why I brought the issue to Rapid Response and SeeClickFix in the first place.

Sorry, but since no one seems willing or able to address this matter of disturbing the peace, this case must remain open. These are not like "regular commuter buses announcing their destinations". Commuter buses announce this to the passengers INSIDE THE BUS -- not outside to the whole neighborhood. Does someone have to file a civil case to get this resolved. I'm seriously disappointed by the lack of action. As I have stated over and over again, I tried for a couple of YEARS to deal directly with NJ Transit. I was even told at one point that the drivers would be instructed not to use the PA system and to contact the reception desk. That never happened. I don't appreciated being lied to, so I brought the issue here. Here is where I expect the city to use its influence to persuade NJ Transit to change its practices. It isn't that it cannot be done. This is clearly a lack of will.

It happened again, right now, at 12:02 p.m. It seems to me that the volume is louder than ever, considering the air conditioners are running. Again, NJ Transit is making no apparent effort at all.

To date, I've been promised NJ Transit would "look into it", and assured by them multiple times that I would hear back from them. Nothing. If this matter is so impossible for the City and NJ Transit to remedy, there are other venues where the matter can be decided. I would prefer that the City I pay taxes to, and NJ Transit which I support through ridership and taxation, get together and show a little resolve to fix a legitimate problem. Reopening.

And it just happened again. Blasting the arrival message to an entire residential neighborhood. Some of the responses to this complaint are confused. This is nothing like on a public bus when the stops are announced to passengers. This is blasted from a loudspeaker on the top of the shuttle, designed to be heard inside buildings, past closed windows and double doorways. Apparently NJ Transit can't figure out how to use a phone. This doesn't have to go to court, but I'd like to get some action on a reasonable complaint for a change.

I spoke with the resident and information was provided about the Hudson Health Commission. The resident will follow up with them, this case will be closed on our end. Thank You
