The City of Madison DOES monitor this site, the City Engineer is a registered user of this site and commented on the next open issue.

Those reports that Gary Chynoweth simply commented on are from 2015. There have been public works and engineering issues along Hwy 72 where it is not clear to many City of Huntsville SeeClickFix users if it is within the City of Madison or the City of Huntsville. The City of Huntsville has stated numerous times last year and this year that if it is an issue in the City of Madison to report it to the City of Madison here: www.madisonal.gov/index.aspx?NID=71

Also, this report is from November of last year and Huntsville Utilities has yet to reply to it even though they service the majority of Madison.

A group I'm aware of has done that, spoken with past and current council members, one member of that group, I hear, reported a violation of electricity left on there 24/7 (a bulb on end of an extension cord strung around room on lower level of the 2 story hardware store); a violation of electricity on in the upper story of the old drug store and someone living there illegally; the falling down balcony, and so on. The city did act on the two violations but otherwise maintains it is a 'safe building' as it is. Someone even said it is the city's intent to allow it to deteriorate to the point they can condemn the building(s) and tear them down. I do hope that is not the case. Regardless, the city chooses to look the other way. It has no explanation.
