Well after the rain stopped.

We have lived on the canal/retention pond for 24 years and this is the worst it has ever been. In the past the rain we received last night would not have been an issue. We also noticed how quickly the water rose and how slow it was to drain. A couple years ago someone came through and sprayed the weeds in the center of the canal. When a good rain came - like last night, all the weeds broke free and were caught under the bridge at 121st Ave. Which could have caused a greater problem. This area has been ignored for too long. Even the otters that visit occasionally seem to have problems fishing there now. Please dredge!

Spot repairs along the Pinebrook Canal will be scheduled for the drier months.
