Thank you for contacting the City of Saint Paul. This concern was sent to Code Enforcement. Should you want to follow-up on this issue, please wait a few (working) days and call 651-266-8989 and ask for an update on file #17-082739
Please allow me to explain the complaint process so you have a better idea of what happens when a complaint is received by this office. Approximately 24-48 hours after a complaint is entered for an address, a work order is created and printed for the inspector to investigate. The inspector goes to the property and determines whether the item was dumped or placed there by the property owner. From that determination, either a work order is created for another City department to take care of the issue OR a letter is sent to the property owner and occupant alerting them of the issue. Forty-eight to seventy-two hours later, the inspector returns to the property to see if the issue has been corrected. If it has not been corrected, the inspector issues orders for another City department to take care of the issue, wherein the property owner is charged a fee. Please understand the process takes time.
In this case, the inspector was able to get out to the property sooner than expected and already issued an order for a different City department to pick up the mattress. Therefore it is now in the hands / on the list of the department that picks up items throughout the City of Saint Paul.
