Description
This intersection is less than a block away from an elementary school in a high traffic area with many resident children. People use this street as a cut through to avoid busy intersections on Hermitage and Laburnum, often driving wrecklessly and at high speeds. Similar intersections throughout the neighborhood have four-way stops. Please remedy.

I see above that at some point the case was closed, why? How can the case be closed when the problem hasn't been remedied? It just says closed with no explanation. Glad whoever reopened it did so!
We also desperately need a stop sign halfway down just across from the corner of Chevy Chase and Nottoway. People leave the four way stop at Monticello and Nottoway and see how fast they can get to the end of the three blocks at Hermitage and not away. It's like some big race and I'm really tired of it being so dangerous!

Demonstrate a need.
Big issue: the existing 2-way stop is NOT ENFORCED!
Another big issue: speeding, throufhout entire the neighborhood.
As for the comment re Nottoway, lots of those speeders are DUI from the beer store and mny bars on Macarthur. Walk that intersection ay night and yoi may live to understan this comment!

What I severely suggest is that the City and the Rinchmond police enforce existing laws and codes.
I continue to see trailers parked on the street, code 102-227 violation on 4000 block Monticello, abandoned vehicles and failure to stop, and so forth.
Police might start ticketing at this intersection.
The City did heed a request to sweep Hermitage Road bike lanes. Good job there.

I understand that if I report a 102-227 violation like on Monticello and that trailer is ticketed and removed the case should be closed. The problem has bern fixed. What happened here with the stop sign process? All I see is someone commenting that rolling through a stop sign is fine. And that the RPD should not have to enforce all the laws. Just let us speed a little bit, roll stop signs, just put it in a little bit, and so on. And the trailer is still on the 4000 block of Monticello. I say either police this area or remove all signage. No stops, no speed control, no school zone

Not rocket science.
Of course, rocket science is easier to understand than how to deal with the City. Jeff Davis Highway is a good example of how a worki g class neighborhood went so far down. And we are going there.
