How is it determined if Chief Karajanis was sent this issue? But whether he was or he wasn't, I would expect that he would comment here that he has seen it.
On the full web site (not a mobile app - not certain how you are accessing the site), when you click into an issue, it shows the "public watchers" set up on the right hand side, and whether or not an email was sent to them. If you click on 'messaging details', it shows the keywords they are watching for.
In many cases, the watches have been set up not by the watcher, but by others who have found a publicly available email address - for Chief Karajanis, this would appear to be the case according to the messaging details.
Oh, one other thing - the only time we know for certain that an official has read the comment is if there is a 'public acknowledgment'. I'm not certain, but I believe municipalities have to sign up to be able to publicly acknowledge the problems.
To those of you who may be interested, this issue was opened 28 days ago and their has been no police presence on Enright Street watching for violators.
I beginning to wonder about the effectiveness of SeeClickFix. Many open outstanding issues remain in this neighborhood and nothing is happening to resolve them. There have been no written responses from those who should be taking action to resolve the issues on SeeClickFix as to what they plan to do and when.
Well, it's going on 4 months now and still no action by the WHPD on this issue. This intersection at Enright and Rangely Streets is a school bus stop. Kids will be returning to school later this month. I guess the WHPD doesn't plan to enforce the stop sign on Rangely Street going down the hill until a kid is killed! They take great pleasure in being reactive instead of proactive. Less work I guess.
This is an important issue and should be addressed. Send your gripe to Gripevine4wh@aol.com (The West Haven Voice) and include your name, address and phone number. KEPT CONFIDENTIAL and I will try to make this area safer.

There was a near miss last week by a car that blew thru this stop sign. This is a SCHOOL BUS STOP intersection and a child almost got hit. Where are the West Haven cops??
The WHPD actually had a car sitting on Enright Street last week, assumingly for this issue. The only problem is that the car was in plain view with it's lights on, easily seen. And to make matters worse, the cop sitting in this car rarely looked up, doing mostly paperwork or whatever. Would have had the same effect if sitting in my kitchen drinking coffee and eating donuts. The WHPD, as for many years, remains an ineffective PD, leaderless and just doesn't care.

Well, a WHPD car was actually parked on Enright Street for a second time. But this time for only about 15 minutes before he/she decided to leave. If they want to do their job and do it right, they should park and watch the Enright/Rangely intersection from 6am thru 8am on a Monday thru Friday. And to make it simple, have a second car parked at the intersection of Rangely and Sycaway to receive the radio communicaton of what offending vehicle to stop at the bottom of the hill. Residents will be watching for their next attempt, or lack thereof.
HI: Send your complaint to gripevine4wh@aol.com,include your name, address and phone number, kept strictly confidential and I will do my best to alleviate this problem.

WHPD has forgotten about this issue. Current Chief is ineffective. Seems like officers do whatever they want. Violations continue every day. It won't be long before Channel 8 will be setting up cameras showing vehicles blowing thru this stop sign on Rangely Street.
