KR, thank you for reaching out to us. Huntsville Connect is an invaluable tool for Huntsville Citizens to directly report service request issues and track their ultimate resolution. I’d like to provide some insight into our internal process for handling requests in a timely manner. We have 25 departments equipped with Customer Services Representatives trained to respond to citizen reporters. Our Huntsville Connect Customer Service Representatives respond to service requests Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Requests that involve long term solutions are sometimes left open until resolution occurs; other service requests are closed after a work order has been created for the department. Constituents always have the option to reopen a service request if they have concerns or additional questions. When a request is shown as open, it’s important to note that doesn’t mean it has not been acknowledged by a City department, but instead could be an indication that resolution requires a longer time frame, something our Customer Service Representatives will always communicate within a particular service request thread. All our departments strive to respond to requests in a timely manner, and it is our goal that all service requests are acknowledged within 48 hours. This report from September of last year was acknowledged by Huntsville Public Works who stated a work order had been issued for the repair but according to the person that reported it the work still had not been done as of last week. https://en.seeclickfix.com/issues/2918749-sidewalk-repair
The only issues that are currently in the City of Huntsville queues are issue numbers 2889287 and 2918749. Our Water Pollution Control Department is still investigating the issue at Natures Way. We have also inquired about the sidewalk repair request at Summer Cove Circle and notified the appropriate department to update as soon as possible. The others had no category selected therefore never came to a queue for us to address. When this happens, we do not get notified nor do we have advanced controls over the service request.
