Those are part of the landlord's private collection. He takes them out every so often and rides them. I see him driving them down near my apartment sometimes.

The sad thing is the longer they set undriven the more they rust and engine and other parts brake down from non use.

What do you mean he can't register them all? There's nothing that prohibits him from registering multiple vehicles if you can't afford the registration and tax then he shouldn't own them, but the funny thing is he doesn't even drive a car. thesr all belong to Old tenants and of his. They're junk vehicles and they're being stored on the property it's a code violation one of many at this property and it needs to be corrected. This property is a blight on the neighborhood. City code and ordinance exist for the benefit and protection of all residents when a resident violates the code and the city fails to enforce the code everybody is negatively affected. There are several codes that I don't agree with and think are absurd but I obey them and the same goes for many other people. If he wants to operate a car storage lot or junkyard he needs to apply for the proper permit.

He might have a license to operate a scrapyard. We don't know that. As a neighborhood, we should rush to judgment. These people are our neighbors and we should extend the same courtesy to them that we would expect.

I do know he doesn't have the permit because that uses not permitted in the R6 Zone. I've been very fair patient and courteous with this building owner over the past decade but it's getting worse every year to the point where my tenants are complaining about it and I'm losing them because of it. Take a walk by the building sometime and check out all the cigarette butts in the street and the piles of trash. Courtesy would be the owner keeping a tidy property that would be courteous to his neighbors.

Sandy, have you approached the landlord in person and addressed your grievances? he will probably invite you in for a beer and a sit down. He can be very welcoming.

I've talked to him many times he is a nice guy but all he ever does is talk. And maybe sweeps up a little bit of trash but then it's back to the same old song and dance the very next day

Sandy, he has a recognized disablement. I've seen him out there doing what he can to keep the place clean, but he physically cant do it all. I've walked by his place and seen him on his hands and knees pulling up weeds and picking up cigarette butts that people passing by throw on the sidewalk in front of his property.

You don't actually believe all those cigarettes come from people walking by do you? They come from the tenants smoking on the porch that's why they're only in front of that property and nowhere else. As for his disability but doesn't get him a pass for running a disorderly house and not following the ordinances. .

Just last night one of his tenants dumped a head of lettuce and Two Rotten Tomatoes out of the second floor window

It's the property owner's responsibility to control their tenants, not the neighbors. He either needs to screen them better or read them the riot act. The next step will be getting his property declared a 'nuisance house'... THEN he will clean it up, or else!

SANDY, it sounds like you might be unfairly targeting this property? I do not visit this site often but when I do there seems to be a lot "nit-picky" posts from you about this building? One might be inclined to believe that you have some axe to grind against the property owner or tenants based on what we see here. I live directly on the corner of High Street and Sherman near this building and I don't know the occupants on a personal level, but I've never had any issue or grievances with this place. They seem fine and friendly as far as I am concerned.

I got it done with just some phone calls to the police... The place next door to me was then declared a 'nuisance house', the property owner complied with the city, and it has been peaceful there ever since.

No sense in getting yourself all worked up and bothering your neighbors over trivial things; just like Jerry Garcia would say, "exist and co-exist".

If you did in fact get assaulted, that's definitely not cool although I have some suspicions if that actually happened the way you say it did based on what I have laid out above, but maybe rather than just skulking around their place in your trenchcoat and camera in hand looking for things to complain about, maybe just relax and worry about your own place?

I don't have an axe to grind. The property has been in a continual slide for years and it's just going to get worse unless the pressure is kept on the owner to follow along with the rules that benefit everybody. The trash the cigarette butts the junk cars. The building is falling into disrepair internets current trajectory will become more than a nuisance into a real Danger to the neighborhood. If you live there surely you remember the fire Last Summer right across the street. The owner presents as a sympathetic case but if he can't maintain his property to the bare minimum code ordinance then he needs to hire out the work or sell the property. I've tried all avenues and approaches to address the issues and the owner has repeatedly shown me that he only responds when compelled by the city. And yes I was assaulted and the Tenant who was out on bail already was later arrested for violating those bail conditions. .

The owner sounds like a slum lord sandy as are his tenants.
If any of my tenants when i managed my building did that to someone else or another tenant or employee of the company he or she would be evicted with a 7 day notice no questions asked.
I was a iron hand building manager and my tenants knew it.
I used to tell them when they singed the lease read the rules and live by them or be ready to move out is that clear.
