Except the complaint was about flooding, which is a perennial issue at this location despite the drain gate before the sidewalk, not plowing.

Drainage issues are a leading cause of sidewalk deficiency, yet I do not believe our DPW has even STARTED to map the extent of the issue. We spent tens of thousands for a mapping of sidewalk deficiencies a couple of years ago, but I was told that drainage issues were not, nor have not since, been documented.

We now have millions of dollars to be spent on sidewalks, yet no public input has been solicited. And advice and information offered for free on drainage deficiencies such as this appear to be ignored.

If even one member of the Public Works Commision reads this, I would love to read your reply here in response, if only to know that it is an issue understood, if not addressed, by DPW.

I was trying to understand why this got a response about plowing, but I just assumed that plowing was a normal treatment for flooded sidewalks.

Per Technical Services: due to the snow and the greenbelt still frozen, there is nowhere for the water to run to. Once the snow has melted and things get dryer, DPW will inspect the area to see if this is an ongoing condition and needs to be addressed.

The comments indicate this was acknowledged.
