Has the City established a Sidewalk repair list?

Per Technical Services Department - The sidewalk work plan based on the additional funding into the program is still a working document and being developed. The work plan for this year should be made available in the next few months, with the longer 5 year work plan likely available for the public this summer. Thank you for your interest in the program and we do appreciate your patience both during the planning process and well as this summer during construction.

Is this plan being developed with the collaboration of Burlington pedestrians, the AARP, the Burlington Walk/Bike Coalition, or by Local Motion? Is it being developed by professional staff in the DPW? When in the process, if any, will local folks have a chance to weigh in with their expertise?

Per Technical Services Department - The panel at 370 Maple Ave is scheduled for repair in the early Spring. The sidewalk work plan is deliberated by the DPW Engineering staff, who have taken the thousands of the Sidewalk Repair Investigation Request For Service’s into consideration. Then the Request For Services’s are graded upon infrastructure, slopes, safety and sorted by priority, location and number of requests to see where majority of the sidewalk repairs need to be considered.

We're excited to let you know that we are now implementing a comprehensive asset management program which is a mostly "behind the scenes" effort. This will enable more efficient, more effective and more fiscally sound infrastructure management. Nothing changes for you and we'll continue to use SeeClickFix, but we have had to automate a process to connect our open SCF requests with our asset management program. There may be the occasional bug to work out, but rest assured that your issue is still in queue and assigned to the right City staffer. Once this initial round of automation is through in about a week, we'll revert back to our standard messages on SeeClickFix.
